About Chitons
Chitons are small to large marine molluscs in the class Polyplacophora. There are approximately 940 extant and 430 fossil species recognized. Chitons are sometimes called "sea cradles" or "coat-of-mail shells".

- Create a journal page about a chiton or use NatureGlo's journal template given with this course. Make a sketch of a chiton from wikipedia here. Include a general description, habitat range, diet, natural predators and draw a map range of one particular species.

3). Look at the two pieces of artwork about the chiton.
4). Brainstorm different artistic expressions you could create that may be similar or very different to the student example artwork.
5). You can do a Google search using the key words, "chitons in art" for some ideas.
6). Use this website to look at different kinds of chiton species. Notice their colors and patterns.
7). Create a drawing , clay model, collage, or any other artwork you want of the chiton.
